well..once again i have to desagree! Grin "realistic" doesn't necessarily means better! batman is firstly a work of fiction inspired from a comic book and  i think that jack's joker really matches the comics, and that's what makes it better then Ledger's. Cool
"Ledger's" might be scary but "Jack's" is creepy! Tongue

Then we agree to disagree then? LOL! Listen I love jack's Joker, don't think I don't...Nicholson is one of my acting Gods...I just like Ledger's better...as the Admiral said, it's seems more real to me.

that's exacty my point !"realistic" doesn't necessarity means better, what i like about jack's performance is  that his character  is completely unreal and could be comin' right out of a comic book!you know what i mean?
I'm not trying to make you change your mind on the subject but just giving my point of vue.
Even though i do ear and understand what you're saying about Ledger's performance, i guess we do agree to desagree after all! Roll Eyes  Wink

I think there is another actor there that gives a much better performance, would we still be clamouring to give Ledger an oscar if he hadn't died? I'm not dissing the guy, I just think theres a better performance than ledgers there.

Twigs? I was still waiting for your answer...who had a better performance than Ledger?

Ledger puts in a great performance, but there is really only one layer to it. However, it is the type of performance that draw's the publics attention and the acadamy likes to reward.

Look past Ledger to Bales portrayel. Here is a character with many more layers giving a more subtle performance to show each different side to his character.

It's a tough call as it's hard to see another actor in either roles for this film as each brings their own interpretation, however without such a strong Batman Ledgers Joker would seem out of place.

Heath Ledger has become the 2nd actor in Oscar history to win an Oscar posthumously.

Heath Ledger won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of the Joker in the Dark Knight.

The award was accepted by his parents and sister.

There was never any doubt Ledger would win. The guy that got robbed IMO was Micky Rorke for The Wrestler.

I agree that Mickey Rourke was robbed...not to mention I despise Sean Penn. Frank Langella is a great actor as well.

Heath Ledger deserved his Oscar no matter what anyone else says. When you watch that movie you get lost in his portrayal. I forget that I'm watching a character it seemed that real to me.

Don't get me wrong. I liked Penn in Milk, but Rourke had the better performance. I was totally with the character when I saw The Wrestler.

Skull, I like Sean penn's work, but his real life personna just kills his appeal to me...I know that may not sound fair, but unfortunately that's how the guy makes me feel...
