Oh you guys are making things tough.
I take it most of you are out of Pilot cards.... Only 4 cards laid down and there's a chance one of you may be a cylon. Plus the destiny deck might hurt us.
I hate to use this on such a low skill check...
##Baltar uses Scientific Research skill card
##Puts in one card.
What that means is you can add engineer cards to the check for a positive effect.

yeah, but thats a bit hard in a forum game. chances are, that someone reads the message for the skill check before you and puts in cards before you can announce that you will use such a card like tighfighter did.
hm, are you the cylon, m123? wanna fail the skill check and now you are feared that the engineer card you put in counts for the humans?
or is tighfighter the cylon and he just wants to seem like he helps us and the next time a scientific research is needed, he can say "oh, sry, played the only one i had on that idiotic check (hehe)"?
or am i the cylon? constantly suspecting others to be cylon? oh wait, thats not a good way to play this, to make myself suspicious.

I think certain concessions need to be made because we are playing over a forum. TF would have to be on at the right time and it's not fair to him.
IMO, he should be allowed to play the card.

It would be quite a trick to put in an engineering card when Adama doesn't draw any:)
There is something called pre-loading,PMing lj to let him know you want to play a card before it happens.

generally i'd say pre-load is better, but its hard when you don't know what the crisis needs
this card i'll let it go.
Actually you know what? investigative committee is the same way....
tell ya what, official ruling!
as long as you are not one of the last two people to put in cards, you can play one of these two (sci research/ invest committee)
then everyone will have the chance to change their cards.
if you want to change any cards you put in, PM me.
plus if you change the # of cards for this skill check, you can edit the your initial card-put in post.

LMAO Coop that was funny.
Maybe I should run a test on you.
I thought it would be ok to play that card. It's hard when not everyone is on at the same time. The pre-load idea sounds like a good idea but then again pointless if you don't know the crisis.
My suggestion.... Maybe add a pre-skill play check and post-skill play check step to each crisis.
So something like this.....
Crisis bla bla bla
Pre play check- ##Adama Pass ##Baltar plays Research card ##StarBuck pass ect
Skill check- ##Adama puts in X cards ect
Post play check- ##Adama pass ##Baltar pass ##Roslin plays Declare Emergency card
Might make turns longer but it allows for the playing of the cards that would help in a crisis without confusion.
