The episode begins with Adama waking up later than he'd apparently like and going through his morning routine. He then reads a passage from a book:

"There is a languer of the life. More imminent than pain. 'Tis pain's successor. When a soul has suffered all it can."

We are then privied to the ultrasound of Caprica and Tigh's baby. Caprica then shares the epiphany that this baby is the future of the Cylon race. No Cylon to Cylon pairing has ever resulted in children until now. The Cylons can live on without ressurection capabilities.

Gaeta is sitting in the next bed and is is a bit perturbed that Doc Cottle is spending so much time with the Cylons instead of looking at his stump and fixing his artificial leg fitting. At that moment Tyrol runs in with Nicky. He says that the child is urinating blood. The nurse runs to get Cottle and overlooks Gaeta again for a Cylon.

Aboard Colonial One, the Admiral, the Vice President and Lee Adama are holding a press conference. When asked about the identity of the fifth Cylon, Lee states that they believe the Fifth is dead. When asked again, Lee says "we believe SHE died a long time ago." The crowd erupts and wants to know how they are aware the Fifth was a woman. Lee shuts the conference down and the three of them retire to the ward room. Zarek threatens that any attempts to force the fleet to ally with the Cylons will be met with dior consequences. Adama then threatens Zarek that he will find HIM if there's an "unfortunate accident."

In Adama's quarters Tyrol is discussing the possibilities of upgrading the fleet with Cylon jump drive technology. The upgrade will triple the fleet's jump capacity. Gaeta asks what the catch is and Tyrol tells them that the Cylons in the fleet want citizenship. They feel that if they're citizens that Adama will be forced to protect them under his oath. Adama says he will take the idea to the President.

Back in sick bay, Tyrol finds out that Nicky is suffering from kidney failure. As they prepare for blood to be taken to help the boy, the nurse forces Cottle to admit to Tyrol that he is not Nicky's father.

The President is laying out all the medications she's supposed to take as Adama tries to contact her by phone. She does not answer. She stares down at the pills and one by one she pushes them all into the garbage can. In the next scene Adama is with the President as she stretches to do some aerobics. They discuss her Diloxin treatments and Adama tells her she needs to make an announcement to the fleet that an alliance between the humans and the Cylons is wise. She says she needs some time and sends him on his way.

Gaeta sits down with Starbuck in the officers lounge and immediately starts to talk serious smack on her. He really pours it on and tells Kara that there is going to be a reckoning soon. He then says that it's a threat as Kara leaves. Gaeta then tells someone to shut the hatch because he wants to talk to the officers in private.

On Colonial One, Zarek gives a speech about the non- confidence he has in Roslin and Adama. He states his hatred for the Cylons and that they are not to be trusted. He motions and carries that no Cylon will be allowed aboard any civilian ship without that Captain's permission.

Roslin is jogging through the Galactica's halls as Adama gets a phone call from presumably the Doc to tell him Roslin skipped her treatment. He finds her and pleads with her to talk to the people. She tells him she's played her role and she's done. She wants to live a little before she dies. She tells Adama he deserves to live a little as well. She then kisses him and pushes him aside so she can finish her run.

Baltar is broadcasting a scathing rehtoric against the One True God. He asks the people "what have you done to deserve this punishment? Perhaps God should come down here and ask for our forgiveness!" At that moment Tyrol and Hot Dog meet in the center of the room. Hot Dog is Nicky's father and Tyrol commences to beat on Hot Dog.

In the CIC they are told that the He Tae Kon tyllium refinery ship is experiencing a mutiny and are spooling up their FTL drives. An alert team is launched to intercept. Galactica intercepts a call form the refinery ship to Colonial One. They hear the captain ask Zarek what he should do as Zarek tells him he must do what he can to protect his ship and his people. As Athena attempts to board, the refinery ship jumps away right under her. Adama says "you know there are days that I really hate this job!" He then orders Athena to board Colonial One and arrest Zarek. If he refuses Adama says "the use of deadly force is authorized!"

Hot Dog and Tyrol are in sick bay looking in on nicky. Tyrol gives Hot Dog lessons on parenting. He says a parent has to always be there and he'll be back after he sobers up.

Adama finds Zarek in the Galactica brig. He bluffs Zarek into giving him the coordinates of the refinery ship by using Zarek's ego against him with fake extortion records. He leaves Zarek in the brig to cool his heels.

Zarek is washing his hands and speaking to Gaeta as he says "every revolution begins with one small act of courage. But I hope you know how serious this is. I hope you understand that this will have consequences. Deadly consequences for a lot of people." They cement the deal for a coup d'etats.

Adama receives word that the refinery ship is back. He leans down and kisses Roslin as they are both in bed and are quite cozy. "Do you care?" "No" she says. Adama says "neither do I."

For those of you that can't watch the episodes on Hulu it is also available at the SciFi Wire by clicking here. Both Hulu and SciFi Wire both have the episode with Commentary as well.

Here is the teaser for next week's episode...

Another good episode.

The tragedy of not finding a habitable world to live on and the planet named Earth in ruins and having to look for a new world to live on has finally sunk in.

Looks like Gaeta is going to be a real s**t disturber. I guess his experience with sweet & evil Eight have really affected him. On one board they say he might be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.

I thought the fuel refinery ship was called the Daru Mozu, in this episode they had a completely different name the Hitei Kan. Unless there are now two fuel refinery ships. My understanding from the miniseries is that Boomer Sharon found only one fuel refinery ship.

Adama and Roslin doing the nasty - Its about time

Looks like the next episode is going to kick ass and take names

 Cool

I've never been a big Gaeta supporter but man I'm liking that his character is getting some serious arc time....he's gonna be a serious mother to deal with in an episode or two...Zarek btw, is next to die...

I don’t see Gaeta as a mother to deal with. Deep down he is still a wimp he has just snapped. Just one round to the head will take care of old peg leg. From the interviews on BSG cast I do believe that Zarrek is going to be a real nasty character coming up soon. Just something about the way he was talking leads me to believe he is delving into the dark side. He is normally a good guy and excels at playing a good guy. He is being challenged by his role in this season and it felt uncomfortable for him.
AHHH all these clues that they leave for us.

I don't think Gaeta is going to be around in two episodes.  With what we've been shown for next week, I think we've seen the end of our one legged friend.  I don't think he's as bad as the previews make him out to be.  Actually, I think he's a bit of a coward.  Just my personal opinion of him at this point.

Zarek, on the other hand, I think will make it for a few more episodes, if only to cause more trouble.

Too true.  I don't say this much regarding a TV show, but there are certain characters that I want to be killed off before others.  Normally I get attached to the characters and don't want them to be killed off...but I'm making an exception for Gaeta and Zarek.

Yeah, not a big Gaeta fan here either.  I really haven't liked him since New Caprica... something about him from that point and on just makes me wish he'd get thrown out an airlock.

Zarek's arc should be pretty awesome.  When you think about it he hasn't really shown his past "freedom fighter" side to him (save for a few moments), just the savy politician.  It'll be interesting to see his hands get dirty (if that's what happens).

I'm not a real Zarak hater myself. I feel he is trying to make things better in his own way he is just mislead by his past. I do know a lot of people will die soon here but I think some will survive.

I will admit, Zarek has his moments.  I tend to have a love/hate relationship with the character.  I think back to season 2 when he helped hide Roslin as Tigh was going on a power trip.  But for the most part, I think he's a conniving twit who tries to live up the legend of Tom Zarek.  But it's hard to live up to your own legend.
