Knight, if you read this, I'm sorry I was late getting into the chat.  I completely forgot today was Friday (week's been kinda chaotic).

Hi folks, sorry for my absence lately. I had a virus on my PC that I was just able to fix. I'm back now.

Tribute to Episode 413 Sometimes a Great Notion

http://www.vimeo.com/3277549

This FanVid was inspired by the music of Bear McCreary and the fantastic work of the crew and cast of Battlestar Galactica. It is dedicated to them, especially the writers and those who worked specifically on Episode 413.

I believe it to be not only one of the very best episodes of Battlestar Galactica, but one of the best episodes in the history of television.

It features some of my very favorite pieces from the soundtrack of Battlestar Galactica which I have handpicked and mixed for this vid.

It took me some 20 hours at least to make it, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

I hope you enjoy it and that it inspires you as much as it has inspired me!

Hi Adalla,

Man I was blown away by yur creation.  There's quite a few musical elements I'd not heard before and I'm envious.  Great pacing and construction.  It Rocks! Rocks! Rockx!.  Time seemed to stand still as I watched.  That was a good thing cause I was watching during my morning routine and thought i'd be late.  Great work.

Bravo Adalla. Great use of the sound track. The editing is fantastic. I loved how it looked like Sam was jamming to heading the call.

Thanx for the feedback Scorpion. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I actually utilized a little piece you had extracted from S4. You can probably notice it in the Goddess of the Dawn section, it's at the end. I completely forgot to credit you for it in the vid, but I'll be sure to credit you in the YT and Vimeo descriptions.

But yeah, those are some of my favorite musical pieces by Bear McCreary. I mixed in my absolute favorite parts of each piece.

EDIT: Thanx TighF.

Yeah, a few things turned out to work out perfectly without real intention. If you notice the music has perfect timining in some cases, for example when you see the close up shot of Tyrol as the nuke's light is hitting his face, or as you said, when the guitar really kicks in Anders is jamming to it.

Another favorite part of mine is one of the kissing shots between Lee and Dee as the drums kick in for the first time in the scene right as they kiss.

Also, I dont know if Starbuck is really the Goddess Aurora, Goddess of the Dawn...but whenever I see it written in that vid with that music from Deathbed and Maelstrom...for now it fits her very well to be a Goddess...

That was beautiful, & awesome.

The music beautifully meshed with the scenes and everything.

Did you post that to Youtube???  If you haven't you should.

 Cool

Yeah Knight, here is the YT version. The sound quality is a bit worse after YouTube encodes it. That's why I posted the vimeo one. But the YT version is slightly bigger.

Hi Adalla,

No worries about the cred.  Your work is what's on display here.  It's good stuff and I'm just happy to be a small part of it.  Pieces like that one will really help to promote the site.

Well done! Great choice in music and better timing of the perfect photos. I really need to get going on my vid I have planned. Storyboards are done...now I just need to get on with it. LOL!
