Knight - I will try to make either the 9pm or 11pm broadcast of "Caprica" tonight.  My group is holding a wrap party for our gropu tonight.  I'm thinking about going but not sure.  If I do, then I may be in at 11.  If not, then I may be just in at the regular time.

See the GalacticaSitrep article.

I tried to comment on there but I had to sign in and I lost it, but basically I said YT are a bunch of idiots that need to be boycotted for their stupidity.

They need to realize at some point that the fanvids that "break copyright" actually promote and market the artists and producers for FREE where as usually it'd cost them millions of dollars to get that sort of marketing, and they still have the balls to bitch about it.

It is those fanvids that make BSG and all other works who's "copyright has been breached" such a sucess. It is torrents that made BSG popular. It is torrents that's making shows like Dollhouse watchable by people who dont get FOX WBCT Channel 4 XWY$@)*# or whatever.

Not to mention, all the hard work SevorTB has put to bring us these videos.

I hope soon other vid hosting sites gain a bigger market share and that YT goes starts becoming less valuable.

It's what they deserve for this BS.

I layed out the cabin today. It's gonna have an easternly view. You should see the light we get here when the sun comes up from behind those mountains. It's almost heavenly. Reminds me of you. - Admiral William Adama

YouTube has gone downhill as of late.  This just makes me hate them a little more.

Well, to be fair, it's not always You Tube to blame. A lot of their actions have to be taken and are forced upon them by the mpaa etc, who will take legal action against YT if it does not act to 'protect' their 'intelectual property'.

YT is currently blocking many music videos to British users due to the music writers group or something wanting more money for each video viewed. YT is (and IMO correctly) refusing to pay any more money than it currently does to allow these videos on. Now the same group that is demanding more money is criticising YT for taking the action it has, saying its only hurting the public and preventing artists from getting the proper exposure!

BTW, if anyone remembers the spoof Rockstar (by Nickelback) video my squadron made in afghanistan last year, guess what. It's been taken off YT because of copyright infringement. We didnt have permission to use the song, so despite being a charity video the RIAA have demanded it and others like it were removed.

So, again, I dont blame YT after all it has to protect itself. Instead, I lay the blame squarely at the feet of those greedy ******* in charge of the corporations taht keep demanding more money, despite NOT passing it on to the artists, or those involved in producing it.

True Twigs,
But there comes a point where everyone has gone too far.  Using a song without permission, I can understand that one.  But it's not like SevorTB was posting whole episodes.

I've heard this argument over and over, and each time it falls flat on its face.  Napster/Limewire/P2P downloads were supposed to be the death of the music industry...as we have found out, that is not true.  And, despite all the sites on the internet that pirate music/movies/etc., sales are still strong.
