Adalla Picture Productions Presents
BSG Finale Tribute

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OS_sAxukU2M
(note YT might be processing the vid so it might take some time for it to go live)

This FanVid is a Tribute to the Battlestar Galactica series finale "Daybreak". It is an expression of my thoughts and feelings regarding the show. BSG continues to inspire me to make tributes and fan videos dedicated to this incredible show. I hope my videos inspire you as much as BSG has inspired me.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Cast, Crew and Fans of Battlestar Galactica for making the greatest show in the history of entertainment. I'd like to also thank two very special friends of mine and true fans of the show, Matt and Nat from BSGcast.com who have greatly enhanced the experience of tens of thousands of BSG fans around the world. Thank you so much Matt and Nat! We love you very much!

Here are the passages I wrote for the video:

After a long journey through the stars
After losing everything they had
After great suffering
One last mission remains
Outnumbered and Outgunned
Galactica holds strong for her last battle
The guardians of the fleet continue to make the ultimate sacrifice
The way forward once unthinkable
Man and Cylon united in battle
To learn once again that we are more than just flesh and bone
And that perhaps there might just be a higher power out there that guides us
Helping us let go of the past,
look to the future
And teach us the Universal Truth:
Love Conquers All
And that perhaps Angels truly do exist...
Will time make us forget?
Will we learn from the past and break the cycle?
And learn once and for all that Love sets us Free

I layed out the cabin today. It's gonna have an easternly view. You should see the light we get here when the sun comes up from behind those mountains. It's almost heavenly. Reminds me of you. - Admiral William Adama

Great Work Adalla!  Just saw the fanvid and it really grabbed me.  Like the light effect when angel Starbuck bails.  I can see how you got choaked up when you were working on it.  Gats ya just watching it.  Thanks for the ups on the end too.

Very glad you all enjoyed it as much as I do.

You know, one disadvantage of making fanvids is that you actually never get to quite appreciate them as if you'd be seeing them for the first time, so the fanvid maker's POV is distorted. By virtue of having to watch and rewatch the thing over and over, you dont know how you did until others give you feedback.

And yes Scorpion, it was very hard making it because I had to go through scenes in detail and watch, pause, rewind, watch again...and it was like taking a knife ramming it in your hand and twisting it over and over again instead of just pulling it out. What especially got to me was the goodbye scene at the Raptor, between the Adamas, Kara and Roslin, and also the scene between Roslin and Adama. They were heartbreaking scenes, and worse, this time I added the score which I personally thought best fit those scenes...which makes it 100 times harder to watch as it's the exact music and the exact feelings that match your own.

Either way, glad all the work paid off. I'll go watch it now...gotta enjoy the hard work lol.

And thanx Scorpion for the Diaspora Oratorio extraction from S4. I found it the best piece to score the scene where the Galactica flies over the Moon towards the Earth. I also remixed it to take out the parts of it I didnt like.

#70 top favorited - Film and Animation - Canada YouTube video this week

Thanx for all the great feedback, ratings and comments all. It honestly makes all those hours put into these things worth it in the end.

Gives me the motivation to go make more Smiley

And a big thanx to Galactica Sitrep for featuring it.

Well done Adalla. This was a moving tribute. The music was perfect. Where'd you get the Diaspora Oratorio and Roslin and Adama? I've looked far and wide but can't locate them...

I gotta ask yet again. What program do you use to do the video capture? I so wanna get moving on my own fanvid but I can't seem to find a video capture program.

Roslin and Adama is from either the Season 2 or 3 soundtrack, I cant quite remember.

Diaspora Oratorio is not out yet, it was extracted from Revelations courtesy of Scorpion6. You can find it in the Engineering Room's S4 tunes thread.

And I use Sony Vegas 9. People say Pinnacle Studio is also good, and Adobe Premiere is what the pro's use.

Windows Movie Maker is the one that comes standard with Windows OS and it's decent but not as good as the others.

I got lonely for BSG and watched this again today. The first time I watched it this vid moved me...this time it moved me to some tears. Watch it again folks and I urge you to let the music really sink in. Again, well done Adalla.

I must have watched it some 10 times at least. I especially love the battle scenes, it goes so well with the music.

Almost 5000 views, favorited 77 times and 58 5-stars...it's probably my best fanvid to date Smiley

I'll be making two others in the near future, one a Tribute to BSG VFX and another to the Cast, but I found out these things require time and attention to be good, so I'm not rushing it.

Taking it slow to ensure greatness is a motto I have come to embrace as we waited month after month for BSG seasons to start each year! LOL!

The video just broke 15,000 views and a 4.91 star average rating from 150 ratings, 211 favorites, and a 100-views-per-5-star-rating ratio, I believe one of the highest of any BSG video on YT.

Thanks to all who have commented, rated and enjoyed the video! Smiley
