The Bear McCreary Battlestar Galactica Concert
By Colonel A-Dog with assist from Knighthawkdc - Pictures Courtesy of Bear's Battlestar Blog

On June 13, 2009, Bear McCreary and the BSG orchestra played a show at the California Plaza. There were some very special guests that helped Bear out as the night wore on. The show was fantastically theatrical in it's own right and it packed a stellar track set including:

A Distant Sadness
Precipice
Fight Night
Gina Escapes
Caprica
Gaeta’s Lament
Roslin and Adama
Wander My Friends
Dreilide Thrace Sonata No. 1
Baltar’s Dream
Dirty Hands
Lords of Kobol
Prelude to War
Kara Remembers / Heeding the Call
All Along the Watchtower

Encore:
Black Market

The night began with Bear's brother, Brendan McCreary and his band firing up the crowd with several pieces he composed for the series finale including When Will the Work Be Done.

Then it was Bear's turn and from the looks of things the BSG orchestra did not disappoint! Many of the songs performed are also on the track listing for the Season 4 Soundtrack. Although there weren't supposed to be any cameras present, several concert goers of course found a way to get video of just about all the songs played. BSGPilots.com presents some concert videos by YouTube user filmsinfocus for your viewing pleasure!

A Distant Sadness

Roslin and Adama...

When Will The Work Be Done?

Prelude To War

And finally, to give you the chills, allow Bear McCreary and the one and only Miss Katee Sackhoff to re-live the final moments of
Someone To Watch Over Me.

Kara Remembers / Heeding the Call

Hi There A-Dog, this was indeed a cool post, i was going to reply and thank you for the cool find, but i guess i was at work when I saw it and didn't get back to it.  I'd like to see them release a dvd of the event.   Or have some way of seeing it in it's entirety.

Once Again, Great work on the find.  You and all the rest really scour the universe to get the prome BSG stuff Thanks

Thanks Scorpion. This wasn't that stellar a find, I was just bustin cause I could! LOL! Seriously though, a lot of folks (myself included) have left a message for Bear on his blog about that very thing (a DVD) and he said they very well may do one at some point. The sadder part of that answer as well was that the BSG band is not going to tour anytime soon either. I would've paid a lot of money to see them. Thanks for replying!  Tongue
