1. Spread the word about the Caprica Series and buy the Pilot Episode NOW available at amazon.com or your favorite DVD retailer!
2. Spread the word about the new Battlestar Galactica TV movie being made
3. Spread the word about Season 4.5 (second half of Season 4) of Battlestar Galactica which will be aired first quarter 2009.
4. Spread the word about the release date for DVD Season 4.5 in July of 2009. And be sure to purchase previous seasons of Battlestar Galactica as well!
5. Watch Caprica Series on Official channels when it airs in Spring 2010. Do not change channels when commercials air.
6. Watch the BSG TV movie "The Plan" when it airs on official channels and do not change channels when commercials air.
7. Buy the Season 4 DVD Set on December 30th, 2008
8. Buy the BSG TV Movie "The Plan" on DVD when it comes out. This is very, very important if we want to see more BSG TV movies being made. If you do nothing else, buy this BSG movie DVD when it comes out.

Well, then you must support Battlestar Galactica by paying the people who make Battlestar Galactica. 

Here is what the makers of Battlestar Galactica desire:

1. High television ratings (and income from advertisements during the airing of the show on television)
2. High income from DVD sales
3. High income from advertisements on SciFi.com, SkyOne.co.uk, spacecast.com and other Official Websites
4. High profile (everyone needs to know about Battlestar Galactica, the more the better)

Here is how you can help, as BSG fans, to ensure that the makers of BSG get paid, and that they continue to bring us more BSG!


1. Spread the Word!

There is nothing more powerful than word of mouth. It is after all how Battlestar Galactica became famous in the first place. SkyOne in the UK aired Battlestar Galactica before the SciFI channel in the United States, and people uploaded the episodes and distributed torrents to the US. This in turn made the show very popular, with a huge fan base, before the Miniseries even aired in the US! Moral of the story? Tell everybody you know or can reach to about Battlestar Galactica. Whether you have a website, blog, podcast, or even to your friends, family and co-workers. Spread the word, and help BSG.

2. Watch the show as it airs on the official channels when it first airs! Do not change the channel when commercials air!

Even though television ratings are far from the true measure of a TV show's success, they certainly are a big part of it, and people who pay to make Battlestar Galactica rely on those ratings as one of the main measures of the success of the show. So if everybody downloads the torrents and never watches it on TV, they are hurting the show, by driving ratings down! Battlestar Galactica makers do not get paid by torrent downloads. So when the show airs on Fridays at 10 pm Eastern in the United States (and Canada) you need to watch the show on TV with the commercials! The makers of Battlestar Galactica get paid by people who want to advertise on TV. And the people who advertise depend on high ratings (and high number of viewers) to reach the largest possible audience. So bottom line is, make sure to watch Battlestar Galactica whenever it airs on Official times and channels, and watch the commercials. Or at least dont change the channel. By supporting the commercials, you ensure they make money, and if they make money, they will pay the makers of BSG, who will in turn be happy and make more Battlestar Galactica for us Fans. 

3. Visit the Official websites of the makers of Battlestar Galactica! Visit them often. The more the better.

Another indicator that the makers of BSG look at to see the success of the show, are the statistics from their official internet sites such as SciFi.com, skyone.co.uk and spacecast.com. That's because they have advertisements there, and the more visitors visit the site, the more money the advertisers give them. All those videos on SciFI Wire with all the adds, they are a source of income and an indicator of success for the makers of Battlestar Galactica. So, bottom line, visit the official sites, and visit them often. Watch those new videos they put up, take the quizzes, read the blogs and news, browse the sites, and post on their official forums (which also have adds that make them money). 

4. This is very important. If you dont do anything else, BUY THE DVDS!!!! 

Buy the DVD sets for all the Seasons, and the DVD for the TV Movies like Razor. In fact, this is so important, because they will only consider making more BSG TV movies once the income from the first DVDs come in. So if they make good money, and lots of peopel buy the TV movie DVDs, then they'll make more. Otherwise, no more BSG fo us! So go out there, save the the 45 bucks for Season 1, 38 bucks for Season 3, 74 bucks for Season 2.5 and 2.0 (DVD sets were split in two for Season 2), and 20 bucks for Razor. It's 181 dollars over 5 years...it's really not that bad, that's 36 dollars per year, or 3 dollars per month! Surely you can spare 3 dollars a month for the best show on television ever made right? So do it! Save up that money and buy the DVD sets and DVD movies. This is crucial if we want to see more BSG TV movies.
